Rowan Students, Alumni Power ‘Grease’ at Levoy Theatre

January 17, 2014 — When “Greased Lightning” thunders Christmas across the stage and the “Hand Jive” has them dancing in their seats, audiences at the Levoy Kupno Theatre in Millville, New Jersey, will have Rowan University students and alumni to thank in part for the fun that is the Off Broad Street Players’(OBSP) production of Grease. Staged by a cast and Interview crew featuring several current wholesale nfl jerseys Rowan students and alumni, the Broadway classic opens Friday, January 31.

Among the more than 40 members of палки the show’s cast, production staff and orchestra are current Rowan students Sam Price (who plays Sandy) Nick Alvarez (who plays Sonny), ensemble performer Alyssa LaPierre and Katie Kiessling, a theater and dance major who portrays Cha Cha and serves as the show’s dance captain. Graduate student Andrew Jarema plays Doody.

Rowan alumni, meanwhile, are also integral parts wholesale nfl jerseys of the production, as well as OBSP itself. Walter Webster, the show’s musical director, in fact, formed the Digel theater group in 1998. Alumnus John Stephan serves as the show’s director and choreographer, and he cast fellow Rowan grad Jason Smith as Eugene. All three men serve on OBSP’s board of trustees.

“Working on a show about school friends, it’s kind of fitting to feel our own bit of school spirit,” Stephan joked. “Of course, I’m proud of everyone involved in the production, but it is particularly great to see my alma mater represented by wholesale nfl jerseys so much talent and to be able to share that with our community.”

Grease runs January 31 and February 1, 7 and 8 at 8 p.m.; February 2 and 9 at 3 Scott p.m.; Christmas and February 6 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.levoy.net.
