February 17, 2015 — The Off Broad Street Players’ (OBSP) announced today the cast for its next production, August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Fences, which began rehearsals this week in preparation for its opening on OBSP’s second stage at the Glassworks in Millville, New Jersey, on March 20.

Set in the 1950s, Fences focuses on members and friends of the African-American Maxson family and their struggles in and out of their urban home in a time of racial division.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Walter A. Webster, the Fences cast features several newcomers to OBSP. Richard Smith returns to the theatre group to play patriarch Troy, while newcomer Sara Osi Scott plays his wife, Rose. Nathan Langston is Cory; OBSP newcomers Tim Goldea and T. Andre Jones are Bono and Lyons, respectively; Joel Vazquez is Gabriel; and young Naomi Jones returns to OBSP to portray Raynell.

Fences performances will be held Friday, March 20, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, March 22, at 3 p.m. Fences marks OBSP’s first production at the Glassworks in Millville since creating the partnership to make the Glassworks the group’s second stage.

Fences also includes a dinner theater option on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Best of Southern Cooking in Vineland, New Jersey, will provide the dinners at the Glassworks beginning two hours before the curtain goes up for those shows.

Tickets for the show are $15 per person, and the dinner option is an additional $15 per person. Both can be reserved at http://www.obsp.org/box-office/, and payments can be made on the site or at the door.
