Step into the enchanted world of this “tale as old as time.” A musical based on the 1991 Academy Award-winninganimated film and featuring all of the beloved songs, Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST follows a young woman who stumbles upon a secluded castle occupied by a monstrous beast and a host of enchanted objects trying to break a witch’s spell before it is too late. To break the spell, the Beast must learn to love and be loved before the last rose petal falls, but time is running out. If the Beast does not soon find true love, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. “Be our guest” when the Tony Award-nominated, eye-popping spectacle that has won the hearts of countless audiences worldwide sweeps onto the Levoy Theatre’s stage.

In addition to the roles of Belle, Gaston, LeFou, Maurice, Cogsworth, Lumiere, Babette, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Madame De La Grande Bouche, and the Beast, there will be an ensemble of 19 men and women to fill multiple other roles (Silly Girls, Townspeople, Enchanted Objects, Enchantress, Narrator, etc.)

Belle (Looks Age 20-25) Vocal Range: E3-F5 – An intelligent, strong and adventurous woman, who wants more out of the life than her current ordinary existence. She is optimistic, fun-loving, caring and eager. We are seeking all types and ethnicities for this
role. Must be able to move well.

Beast (Looks Age 30-40) Vocal Range: A2-F4 – A prince transformed into a terrifying beast for his lack of compassion. He is hot-tempered and commanding, but has a warm, loving heart buried beneath his gruff exterior. Physicality will be very important for this

Gaston (Looks Age 30-40) Vocal Range: A2-E4 – The egotistical, ultra-masculine, physically imposing villain determined to marry Belle. He is manipulative and smooth in his villainy. Imposing physicality is a must. Must be able to move well.

Lefou (Looks Age 21-35) Vocal Range: B2-F#4 – Gaston’s bumbling sidekick. He is loyal, energetic and optimistic but not quite the brightest guy. Physical humor is a must for this role. Must be able to move well. Tumbling and acrobatics a huge plus.

Maurice (Looks Age 50-65) Vocal Range: Bb2-Db4 – Belle’s loving, eccentric father. A child at heart and inventor in his own world.

Cogsworth (Looks Age 30-45) Vocal Range: A2-E4 – A tightly-wound, enchanted mantle clock and the head of Beast’s household. He is uptight, strict, and punctual but also hard-working, faithful, and thorough.

Lumiere (Looks Age 30-45) Vocal Range: F#2-F#4 – A suave, debonair, enchanted candelabra. He is a loyal and steadfast servant. Must be able to move well.

Mrs. Potts (Looks Age 30-45) Vocal Range: F#3-G5 – A warm-hearted, maternal enchanted teapot. She is loyal, caring and playful.

Chip (Looks Age 9-14) Vocal Range: A3-F5 – An enchanted teacup and Mrs. Potts’ darling little boy. He is innocent, playful and bright eyed. We are only seeing boys for this role and he must be able to play an 11 year old.

Babette (Looks Age 21-35) Vocal Range: C4-F5 – A saucy, enchanted feather-duster and the object of Lumiere’s affections. She is a playful, gorgeous French maid. Must be able to move well.

Madame De La Grande Bouche (Looks Age 40-55) Vocal Range: C#4-D5 – A former opera diva-turned- enchanted wardrobe. She is caring, refined, larger than life personality. We are seeking a legit operatic soprano to fill this role.

Monsieur D’arque (Looks Age 35-55) Vocal Range: D3-A4 – The scheming proprietor of the local insane asylum. He is a dark, sinister villain who aides Gaston in his plot to marry Belle.

Silly Girls (Looks Age 20-30) A trio of townswomen who pine for Gaston. We are seeking diversity and comedic timing for these roles. Must be strong dancers who can also harmonize well.

Ensemble (Ages 14 & up only) Strong dancers and good movers who harmonize well are needed to play townspeople and enchanted objects. Tumbling and acrobatic experience is a huge plus, especially for the wolves.
